Oluwaseun Akinbo, MD, FAAOS, FAAHKS
Dr. Akinbo is an ABOS Board Certified, fellowship trained hip and knee replacement orthopaedic surgeon. He is the only fellowship trained and Board Certified joint replacement surgeon in Northwest Kansas. He is the Director of Joint Replacement at Hays Medical Center. He also serves as the Chief of Orthopedics, and the Chief of Staff at Hays Medical Center.
Dr. Akinbo has a passion for helping his patients return to the lifestyle they love. He does this by tailoring surgical and non-surgical treatment regimens to individual patient needs.

Biography
Dr. Akinbo is an orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery. He practices general orthopedics and fracture care with special interests in primary and revision hip and knee replacements, complex primary knee replacements, partial knee replacements, computer navigated knee replacements, computer navigated hip replacements, direct anterior hip replacements, mini-posterior hip replacements, patient specific anatomic total shoulder replacement, patient specific reverse total shoulder replacement, and periprosthetic hip and knee fracture surgery.
Dr. Akinbo graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA from the University of South Florida where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. He was recognized as a King O’Neal scholar. He then obtained his medical degree from Columbia University. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the historic Howard University where he served as the administrative chief resident during his final year of residency. He completed fellowship training in adult reconstruction/hip and knee replacement surgery at the world-renowned New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Akinbo is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and a member of the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leaders’ Program.
Dr. Akinbo is active in the orthopaedic community and has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals, he serves as a peer reviewer for multiple orthopaedic surgery journals, on multiple orthopaedic committees on the national level, and as an Associate Editor on the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery Associate Editor Panel. He takes pleasure in traveling, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends.
